ShooterofIO®: Dark Warfare II has been confirmed.
Decades following the events of ShooterofIO: Dark Warfare, Dark Warfare II arrives this year with a new chapter in the story. The year is 2048 and we're entering a new era of ShooterofIO which means we'll build entirely new styles.
Dark Warfare II features the return of Campaign, Multiplayer, and the next iteration of Zombies. You'll find out further details of the game is to become available in the coming summer.
The road to Dark Warfare II begins today with the debut of the Official Teaser Cinematic (shown above). Marcus Vale, Head of Global Marketing at Air Studios, shared insight into the upcoming campaign: “Our goal with Dark Warfare II is to push beyond the boundaries of what players expect from a modern shooter. This sequel builds directly on the foundation of Dark Warfare while expanding its world, narrative depth, and the chaos of large-scale combat.”
Vale continues, “We’ve moved from the grounded realism of the 2020s to the volatile conflicts of 2048 — a world defined by technological warfare, fractured alliances, and shifting moral lines. This change in setting gives us creative freedom to explore new mechanics, new factions, and new ways to immerse players in the intensity of war.”
“Today’s teaser is just the beginning,” Vale adds. “Players can expect more intel drops, hidden clues, and community events leading up to the global reveal later this summer. Dark Warfare II represents the next evolution of the ShooterofIO universe — and the most ambitious chapter we’ve ever created.”
Dark Warfare II launches in 2026, on PlayStation® 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the ShooterofIO HQ launcher, Steam, and Battle.net. Players will be able to experience the full campaign, multiplayer, and zombies on day one, with cross-play and unified progression across all platforms.
